I read Gary Hayden's article on how we have no control over our emotions, like how we get scared if we enter a haunted house, even though in our minds, we know everything is fake.
Usually when I read his articles on philosophy, I'm quite intrigued(in a sense of "wow, I've never thought about it that way, makes sense") but today, I found myself thinking... duh common sense..
Even then, what he said was quite true. Humans don't really have any control over their emotions. Many of the things he mentioned actually happens to me also. haha.
at the end of the article, he mentions a piece of advice (from some king apparently) to help us control our temper... expect that everyone will be greedy, selfish, obnoxious, ingratifying blah blah blah... haha
something like that.
I realize myself doing that sometimes but how do you maintain the balance of a positive mindset and being prepared for the worst.
Good luck to me for exams tomorrow...
