hm.. I think I might spend too much time studying and trying to understand Japanese notes..
I want my phone! Internet in my room too would be nice but is still okay to just go to the study room and use.
I think it would be better to take GEM back in Singapore(and it will probably pull up my cap too). I totally can't understand the geography lecture at all since it's all Japanese and no numbers. At the end of the lecture, the teacher told us to write a short paragraph regarding some of the contents in the lecture. ?!?! *I was lost at that time. In the end, I just smoked a few sentences in English and apologize to the lecturer* I'll just take it anyway to see if I miraculously pass it. Shall not put too much effort into it as I need to study hard and pass another module too in order to map back GEM. Too much work.
I will study hard for my engineering modules. At least materials on the web are available and numbers are easier to understand. I'm taking "Optimal control Systems" here which the NUS lecturers advise me not to take cuz is too difficult but I'm glad that the teacher uses the English terms in his lessons. So I have a advantage in that aspect even though the level might be a little difficult. probably might be able to level out with the rest of the students in the class due to the unusually high use of English compared to normal classes.
The other two engineering modules uses Japanese almost 100% of the time especially computer simulation. but computer simulation is still okay since it is practically all equations. plus, the lecturer for computer simulation is my advisor so he really provides lots of guidance and is easier to talk to him(even though I can't speak to him in English at all) Heat transfer is a little bit difficult but at least the teacher is nice and approachable, so not like the Optimal control systems teacher. I wanted to ask him if I can write in English during the exams but he left immediately after the lesson. o.O I thought he would stay back for a while for students to ask questions more privately but nope. Seems like he's only open to public questions. At least the plus about the module is the use of English terminology
